Man guilty of having sex with student

The district suspended the part-time teacher without pay.
DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- A Bucks County judge found a Pennridge High School athletic trainer guilty of having a sexual relationship with a student.
The 16-year-old girl testified she had sexual contact with David Heath, 26, four or five times, including once in the school's auxiliary gym after a volleyball game and another time in a school district van.
Heath, who is also a part-time health teacher at the school, was suspended by the district without pay. He was not charged with sex crimes because the girl was of the age of consent, but it is a crime for a teacher to have sexual contact with a student.
Prosecutors charged Heath, of Doylestown, with corrupting a minor and endangering the welfare of a child for having a consensual sexual relationship with the girl last year.
Judge Albert J. Cepparulo, who heard the case without a jury, said Heath had "nothing in mind other than cheap sex."
After Friday's ruling, Heath left the Doylestown courtroom hand in hand with his wife, a fellow teacher, and declined to comment.
In making the ruling, Judge Cepparulo pointed to phone conversations, text messages and e-mails between Heath and the student.
