CLASS AA ROUNDUP Early lead helps Buds/DiCioccio rout Line Drive, 15-5



Frank Santore had four hits and three RBIs in the victory.
AUSTINTOWN -- Frank Santore went 4-for-5, scored twice and drove in three runs leading Buds/DiCioccio Construction to a 15-5 victory over Line Drive Academy in Class AA League action at Koch Field.
Buds (23-10), which scored seven runs in the second inning and six more in the third, built a 15-1 lead by the end of the third inning.
Santore was also the winning pitcher as he scattered four hits and struck out four.
Adam Cox added a double and two singles.
Shane Davis had a double, a single and five RBIs. Joe Marzano and Jordan Rogers, who hit a triple, each had two hits.
Buds/DiCioccio 10, Tri County 5
YOUNGSTOWN -- Marzano (3-0) worked four innings, allowed only one hit and struck out six to pick up the win at Pemberton-Donnell Park.
Dean Palombaro went 3-for-3 and drove in a run for the winners. Ryan Betzler hit two doubles, scored twice and drove in a run. Hogie Walley, Mark Nightingale and Paul Kello added two hits apiece.
Warren AA
WARREN -- A 10-run second inning propelled Penn-Ohio past Lone Wolf Freight Systems 20-2 in Warren Class AA League at Packard Park MacGregor Field.
Penn-Ohio, which took advantage of 11 walks, scored six runs in the first inning and four more in the third.
Pat Elias, Jeff Claar and Mike Hanck paced the winners with two hits apiece.
Metro Ice 11, MCT Knights 4
Metro Ice, behind 2-0, scored eight runs in the third inning and the Knights couldn't recover.
Jeremy Krol pitched a complete game as he scattered six hits and struck out seven to pick up the win.
Dave Nypaver hit a double and single to spark the winners. Cliff Panezich drove in two runs. Brian Tate hit a double and drove in two runs for MTC Knights.
Predator Trucking posted a 9-0 forfeit over LBW Dawgs.
