WHO'S WHO
'BattlestarGalactica'
COMMANDER WILLIAM ADAMA
The simmering commander of Battlestar Galactica, veteran military leader Adama (Edward James Olmos, right), was last seen bleeding to death after being shot by Sharon "Boomer" Valerii, a Cylon.
PRESIDENT LAURA ROSLIN
Secretary of education and 43rd in line of succession before the devastating Cylon attack on the 12 Colonies of Kobol, Roslin (Mary McDonnell) was thrust into power after the decimation of the civilian government. She's dying of breast cancer and secretly takes medicine that causes her to hallucinate and believe she's a prophet of the gods. Her goal is to lead the fewer than 50,000 survivors of the attack to a rumored planet called Earth before she succumbs to her disease.
LEE 'APOLLO' ADAMA
Adama's son, Apollo (Jamie Bamber), has always had a difficult and distant relationship with his father, complicated further when he sided with President Roslin, his father's rival for power in the Colonial fleet.
KARA 'STARBUCK' THRACE
The best pilot on Galactica, Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) betrayed Adama to take on an assignment for President Roslin. Before that, Starbuck proved her prowess by piloting a Cylon Raider.
GAIUS BALTAR
A science whiz who's also a coward, Baltar (James Callis) betrayed humanity unwittingly and now finds himself having an internal dialogue with a beautiful blond Cylon, Number Six. He hid the results of tests on humans to determine if any of them were secretly Cylons and was recently elected vice president of the 12 Colonies of Kobol.
NUMBER SIX
One of a new breed of Cylons, indistinguishable from their human creators, Number Six (Tricia Helfer) appears both in corporeal form on Caprica and in the mind of Baltar. Like all the human-looking Cylons, there are many copies of Number Six.
SHARON 'BOOMER' VALERII
Another new Cylon variant, two versions of Sharon (Grace Park) have played major roles on the series so far. The Sharon on Galactica initially had no idea she was a Cylon, yet shot Adama after a visit to a Cylon Base Star. The Sharon on Caprica turned on her Cylon overseers to aid Lieutenant Helo.
LIEUTENANT HELO
Trapped on the planet Caprica after the Cylon attack, Helo (Tahmoh Penikett) is in love with Cylon Sharon and may be the father of her unborn child.
COLONEL SAUL TIGH
Galactica's executive officer, Tigh (Michael Hogan), is fiercely loyal to Adama, but he has demons, including a drinking problem and a manipulative wife.
