Officials designate public depositories
WARREN -- Trumbull County commissioners have designated seven financial institutions as "public depositories" for county money over the next four years.
The commissioners adopted a resolution Wednesday estimating the probable amount of active deposits at $70 million.
On the eligible list from Aug. 31 of this year to Aug. 30, 2009, are Sky Bank, Cortland Banks, Charter One, U.S. Bank, National City Bank, Farmers National Bank and First Place Bank.
Fifth Third Bank in Cleveland was deemed ineligible for the county money because it has no offices in the county.
During the meeting at the Trumbull County fairgrounds, commissioners heard from county 911 dispatchers worried that staffing levels could be reduced there. Commissioners are awaiting a budget and staffing analysis by RCC Consultants Inc. of Tallahassee, Fla., of the 911 center in Howland.
