Dawgs split with Optimist; MTC, Ice win
WARREN -- After finishing a suspended game with a 14-13 victory over the LBW Dawgs, Bazetta-Cortland Optimist then lost to the Dawgs 7-6 in Warren Class AA League action at Caffie Field.
BCO scored in the seventh and held off the Dawgs for the suspended win.
Greg Bungo, BCO's fifth pitcher of the contest, got the win.
In the second game, the Dawgs finished on top, as Mike Calloway batted in the deciding run in the seventh inning.
Ryan Keller was 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs in the first game for the Dawgs.
MTC Knights 10, Lone Wolf 3
Winning pitcher John Grdina threw all seven innings as the Knights upended Lone Wolf Freight Systems at Packard Park's MacGregor Field.
Torrie Frangiamore was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, Rick DiMuzio had a pair of hits and four RBIs and teammate Don Stephenson was 3-for-4 with two RBIs to pace the winners.
Metro Ice 14, Predator Trucking 3
Metro Ice, currently trailing the Knights by three games, was sparked by Nick Pompeo's three hits, including a double, and three RBIs.
Jeremy Krol added two hits, including a fifth-inning triple, and two RBIs.
