Car hits man in Austintown; driver charged with felonious assault

AUSTINTOWN -- A 21-year-old Canfield man was charged with felonious assault, accused of hitting another man with a car.
Aaron Bella of Easy Street was released after posting $2,000 bond. He's set to appear in court this morning.
A North Lima man approached a car driven by Bella in the 1200 block of Signature Drive after a man who had been in the car with Bella and the North Lima man's girlfriend had a dispute involving money.
Witnesses said Bella backed his car up several yards then accelerated and hit the man, causing him to fly over the hood and onto the road. Bella then drove off, reports said. The man was treated at St. Elizabeth Emergency and Diagnostic Center, Mahoning Avenue.
Initially Bella told police the man jumped on his vehicle and then said he hit him because he believed the man had a gun, reports said.
