Miss Ohio to appear at Noon in the Park



WARREN -- Miss Ohio Marlia Fontaine will make an appearance at Noon in the Park from noon to 1 p.m. Friday on Courthouse Square downtown.
Fontaine hails from Massillon and is a 2005 graduate of the University of Akron, where she has a bachelor's degree in sociology and law enforcement.
Her career ambition is to obtain an master's in international affairs and to work for the United Nations.
Fontaine's platform issue is Diabetes: Education to Alleviate.
"There have been too many lost from this disease, and there is too little knowledge of the symptoms and risk factors," she said.
The Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County reminds people that Noon in the Park is free,. Food concessions are available.
Sprint is a sponsor of the Miss Ohio Scholarship program. Music for the day will be provided by the Sugarfuzz Orchestra, a horn rock band that performs soulful hits.
