FATALITY Police seek information on hit-and-run victim's identity

The victim may have been run over two or three times, an investigator says.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Police are seeking the identity of a woman who was killed Sunday, the victim of an apparent hit-and-run on the city's South Side.
The victim was described as a white female in her 50s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, between 160 and 180 pounds, with light brown curly hair and blue eyes.
According to a report, Youngstown police were called to Parkcliffe Avenue around 8:30 a.m. Sunday where they found the woman lying face down on the right side of the street between Hudson and Idlewood avenues. Witnesses said the woman was struck by a silver or light blue vehicle, which then drove away toward Hillman Street.
The woman may have been run over two or three times, according to Mahoning County Coroner's Office investigator Rick Jamrozik.
"This doesn't look like an accident," he said.
Description of victim
The victim was wearing black slacks, a white shirt with a brown print, white tennis shoes and white socks. She wore no jewelry, carried no purse and had no identifying marks, scars or tattoos, Jamrozik said. "Not even a bubble gum wrapper on her," he added.
One witness told police that he saw the vehicle facing east on Parkcliffe back up, stop and drive forward again, causing its front end to "go up in the air," the report shows. The witness told police he initially thought an animal may have been run over, but after going to investigate he discovered the body, the report says.
The woman was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where she was pronounced dead.
