CLASS B BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP Mink defeats Levi Steel, takes 2-0 lead in series



STRUTHERS -- Mink Financial scored four times in the top of the fourth inning and went on to take a 2-0 lead in the Class B Baseball Championship series with the 6-4 win over Livi Steel.
Kevin Lee hit a two-run double followed by a double by Caullan Owens to drive in Lee.
A single by Kolton Morrison scored the final run in the rally.
Josh Tedesco pitched three innings in relief for the win, with Lonnie McQueen getting out of a bases-loaded jam with just one run scoring for the save.
Ryan Myers had two hits for Mink, who have won 11 straight games including six in the playoffs.
Game three of the series is scheduled for tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Cene Park.
In game one on Saturday, Mink used a eight-run fourth inning to propel the team to an 11-3 victory.
McQueen had a pair of doubles and three RBIs while J.P. Davis had two hits for the winners.
Corey Vukovic allowed three runs in the first inning (two unearned), and then tossed five shutout innings for the victory. He had five strikeouts and walked three.
Dan Morrison had a pair of hits for Livi while Bobby Revesz suffered the defeat on the mound, allowing eight runs in three innings of work.
