Simerlinks' 60th celebrated with family luncheon

XPOLAND -- A family luncheon at the Holiday Inn, Boardman, celebrated the 60th wedding anniversary of James and Ella (Pat) Simerlink, 6328 Tara Drive.
The event was hosted by the couple's children and their spouses, James and Elaine Simerlink of Indio, Calif., Ron and Sandra Ambrosia of Canfield, and G. David and Lori Beth Broderick of Boardman. Eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren complete the family.
The former Ella Klusener and Mr. Simerlink were married June 1, 1945, at the Normandy Wedding Chapel in Long Beach, Calif.
The couple are members of St. Dominic Church, Youngstown.
Mr. Simerlink, a Navy veteran, retired in 1980 from the Youngstown Police Department after 30 years as a patrolman and is a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 28. Mrs. Simerlink is a homemaker and is active in the FOP Lodge 28 Auxiliary.
