BOARDMAN ROTARY Outgoing president is roasted at 50th annual President's Ball



YOUNGSTOWN -- "Rotary Ignites Hope!" was the theme for Boardman Rotary president John Yerian's final message to his fellow Rotarians at the club's 50th annual President's Ball June 25 at Youngstown Country Club.
More than 120 members and guests attended.
Yerian's talk focused on the beneficial work done by club members to bring hope to people in need, especially in Guatemala, Mexico, Russia and El Salvador, as well as the Youngstown area.
Yerian, who joined Rotary in 1996, stressed the "Service Above Self' motivation club members have.
A roast of Yerian was held with Mary Jane Martinko, the new president of Poland Rotary, as the main roaster.
After the traditional exchange of pins, Yerian and incoming president Joe Ignazio were presented with the Paul Harris Fellow awards.
Ignazio spoke about what Rotary has meant to him
Shannon Tirone was pinned as the new secretary, and Gregg Riddle as treasurer. Sheryl Sidbeck, the new vice president, was absent because she was in Italy for her marriage to Fortunato Figliano.
