UA story in the July 2 Vindicator about reactions to the increase in state cigarette taxes quoted Cigarette World owner David Newman as saying crime would increase because people with lower incomes might choose to act illegally to obtain cigarettes. Newman said he meant crime would increase because higher prices would leave all smokers with less money to buy cigarettes, and some might turn to crime.
UBecause of the holiday, the Read and Ride winner's name was not changed from Sunday's winner. The name that should have run was that of Jason Kyle of Canfield.
