Dear Heloise: I read the hint about making sure that car headlights and taillights are cleaned when windshields are cleaned. Bear in mind, however, that while windshields are made of glass, almost all modern-day vehicles use headlight and taillight covers made from plastic. If care is not taken when cleaning these plastic lenses, a rough brush might severely scratch the plastic, and instead of simply having dirty lenses, one might find them scratched to the point that they need to be replaced. Dear Heloise: When I heard that my good everyday dishes were being discontinued, I went to an online auction site and had no trouble finding replacements for the dishes.
