Sky diving midair impact kills 1, injures 2

RICHMOND, Ind. (AP) -- Three sky divers from Ohio collided in midair Saturday, and one was killed, police said.
Police said Geoff Sean Crossman, 37, of Lebanon, died during a tandem jump with a student jumper, Casey Bischoff, 21, Pickerington.
The two collided in the air with Jason Yasuda, 30, of Cincinnati, a videographer who was filming the jump, police said.
"In the matter of two seconds, they had impact," said Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson.
Crossman and Yasuda both were experienced jumpers, police said.
The men had jumped from a plane operated by a parachuting service based at the Richmond Municipal Airport just over the state line in Indiana.
The tandem sky divers landed in a cornfield just east of the state line, and Bischoff was able to walk to a farmhouse and call for help. Yasuda landed in a field just west of the state line.
Crossman was taken to the Montgomery County coroner's office in Ohio, and an autopsy was being scheduled, said Preble County Coroner John Vosler.
The injured men were taken to Reid Hospital in Richmond for treatment.
The videotape survived the impact but would not be released, police said.
