SAMDLOTS Sattler tosses two-hitter as R & amp;J shuts out Express
Class B League playoffs get underway today at Cene Park.
STRUTHERS -- Billy Sattler pitched a two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts as R & amp; J Trucking finished the regular season with a 5-0 victory over Youngstown Express Saturday in Class B League action at Cene Park.
Justin Herberger hit a pair of doubles and Jim Pasquine added three singles for R & amp; J (15-7).
Ryan Walters went the distance for the Express (4-18), allowing four earned runs.
Rondinelli 11, Livi Steel 1
Rondinelli Tuxedo (16-6) clinched the Goldstone Division.
Cory Collins hit three doubles and drove in three runs. Chuck Olesky hit an inside-the-park home run and a single. Tom Clayton hit a single and double. Phil Williamson hit two singles and drove in three runs. Tim Kearney allowed just two hits for his second win in three decisions.
Livi (12-10) will be the sixth seed in the Class B playoffs, which start today. Mink Financial will meet R & amp;J Trucking at Cene 1 at 5:30 p.m. and Livi will play Wharmby Sports on Cene 1 at 8 p.m. Astro Falcons and Rondinelli -- the tournament's top two seeds -- each have first round byes.
Astros 13, Koch/Line Drive 2
In another regular season contest, Astros pounded out 14 hits and put the game away with a nine-run fourth inning.
Kyle Smith had three hits. Adam Wigley, Adam Wilaj, and Andy Onufrak had two hits apiece for the Falcons (17-5).
John Mang won his fifth game to tie for the league lead in that category. He pitched four innings and did not give up an earned run to tie teammate Joe Koehler for the ERA title.
Mang is tied with Vince Riola of Rondinelli and Kohler with five wins. Paul Hay had a double for Koch/Line (7-15).
