Salem attorney to serve as representative to state bar
SALEM -- Atty. Ian Robinson of Salem and a member of the law firm of Fitch, Kendall, Cecil, Robinson and Barry Co., LPA, was elected to a three-year term as District 13 representative on the Ohio State Bar Association Board of Governors.
District 13 has 493 members.
Robinson will succeed Atty. Shirley J. Christian, of Harrington, Hoppe and Mitchell, Youngstown, whose term concluded June 30.
The 21-member board meets monthly to manage the association's business affairs, set policy, review pending legislation and conduct other business on behalf of OSBA members.
Robinson earned his bachelor's degree from Kent State University in 1976 and his law degree from Ohio State University College of Law in 1979.
Robinson serves on the association's Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee, Jury Instruction Committee and its editorial board, the Negligence Law Committee and the Law Library Committee. He also served on the OSBA's Council of Delegates and is a member of the American, Ohio, Columbiana and Mahoning bar associations.
Robinson and his wife, Sarah, a licensed social worker, have three children, Dant, David and Whitman.
