Man faces charges in missing woman case

MERCER, Pa. (AP) -- A man has been charged with hindering apprehension in a case involving the disappearance of a woman five years ago.
Clifford Stephen Aley, 47, of Ambridge, was charged Thursday with three counts of hindering apprehension or prosecution in the disappearance of Sandra Kay Baker, 52, of Delaware Township, Mercer County.
Baker was last seen with her fiance, William Crea Jr., at a Sheetz convenience store in Transfer, on May 25, 2000, according to police. Crea has not been accused of wrongdoing.
Police said Aley, an acquaintance of Crea's, provided them misleading information in June 2000. Then in June 2004, he told police that he helped get rid of Baker's car and contradicted what he hold told them in 2000, police said.
He has a nonpublished telephone number and could not be reached for comment Saturday. Authorities said Aley was supposed to surrender to police but had not yet done so.
