CLASS LITTLE B PLAYOFFS R & amp;J Trucking, Astros get 2nd round wins



Mark Carrocce paced R & amp;J to a 3-2 win over Wolf Contracting.
STRUTHERS -- Mark Carrocce drove home the go-ahead run with a double in the bottom of the fourth inning for R & amp; J Trucking in a 3-2 win over L.F. Wolf Contracting in the first game of the second round of the Class Little b playoffs Saturday at Cene Park.
Game two of the best-of-three series will be at 8 p.m. tonight on Cene 2.
Nick Muscari had six strikeouts, walked two and allowed six hits in the win. His counterpart, Tyrone Wright, allowed two earned runs and struck out four in the loss.
R & amp; J took the lead in the bottom of the first when Steve McNeely hit an RBI single to score Ed Rohan, who had singled and stole second.
Wolf tied the game in the second as T.J. Stoian hit a leadoff single and Wright doubled him home.
R & amp; J regained the lead when Mike Barone's RBI double scored Greg Brown, who had reached on an error.
Wolf tied the game on a double by Cory Johnson in the fourth, scoring Stoian.
In the bottom of the fourth, Geoff Marple doubled with one out and Brown singled to right. Marple was out on the play after rounding third base. Barone then doubled to left center scoring the go-ahead run.
Astro Falcons 5,Koch Construction/Line Drive 4
The Astro Falcons scored four unearned runs to top Line Drive.
Game two will be at 5:30 p.m. tonight on Cene 2.
Astros scored three times in the first inning, with only the first run being earned. Andy Onufrak doubled and scored on a single by Mike Dota. Drew Turocy scored on a bad pickoff throw, and Dota on a groundout to give the Astros a 3-0 lead.
Koch/Line came back with two runs in the second. With two out, Mike Popio walked and stole second. He then scored on a single by Mike Keller. Dan Kubala singled to put runners on the corners and Josh Gardner plated the second run with his single.
Koch/Line took the lead in the fifth. A single by Nick Turco scored Joe Novak to tie the game, and Turco scored the go-ahead run on a single by Corey Susany.
Cameron Konop hit a double in the bottom of the fifth and scored on back-to-back errors. Turocy scored the go-ahead run on a double steal with Dota.
Turocy struck out five over six innings to earn the win. David DeJacimo pitched the seventh and got the save. Steve Gruver pitched the first five innings and got the loss, allowing four hits while striking out five and walking four.
