Pupils participate in 'Make a Difference Day'
McDONALD -- The first "Make A Difference Day" had 455 students and 43 staff members pitching in to work on various cleanup and beautification projects in the village.
The McDonald Board of Education recently recognized the participants in the May 23 program, and Superintendent Michael Wasser said he hopes the day will become an annual event.
Pupils in grades six through 12 participated in the program, which included various beautification projects on school, village and private property.
The board thanked 29 area merchants and businesses who supplied food, gift cards for food, water, work gloves, planters for seeds and bags of soil for the project.
