CLASS AA ROUNDUP Metros gain 2-0 victory over Buds



Champion rolled past Predator in Warren AA League action, 12-4.
YOUNGSTOWN -- John Hay scattered four hits with six strikeouts leading Youngstown Metros to a 2-0 victory over Buds/DiCioccio Construction in a Class AA League game at Pemberton-Donnell Park.
Mike Turjanica led off the fifth inning with a single. He moved to second on a sacrifice, to third on a wild pitch and scored on an error.
Josh Conkey led off the seventh with a single, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and with two away, scored on a double by Brett Pitzullo.
With one out in the second inning, Bud's Joe Marano hit a triple. Hay got the next batter to ground out and Ross Buttle popped up to second to end the threat.
Conkey also hit a single and double for Youngstown Metros and Pitzullo finished with two hits.
Warren AA
WARREN -- A five-run first inning was all Champion Molded Plastics needed as it upended Predator Trucking 12-4 in the Warren Class AA League at Perkins Park.
T.J. Morgan and Rudy Pekarovic each went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs to spark Champion's (13-7) 12-hit attack.
Ryan Dillon, Mike Sweeney and Chris Green added two singles apiece.
Pete Goche, Luke Boggs and Mike VanDyke paced Predator Trucking (1-17) each with two hits.
Penn Ohio 9, D & amp;K Roofing 0
Jim Newbrough scattered four hits as he threw a complete game to pick up the win at Packard Park MacGregor Field.
Adam Morgan hit a double, two singles, scored twice and drove in two runs for Penn Ohio.
Lone Wolf Freight 4, Metro Ice 3
Lone Wolf Freight Systems (9-9) rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh inning to prevail.
Cle Hollingsworth sparked the winners with a pair of doubles.
Metro Ice (10-9) had a 9-5 hitting advantage in taking the loss. Josh Miller had a triple and Nick Zajaczkowski and Jeremy Krol each had two hits for the losers.
