CLEVELAND -- Raheem Moss had 21 points and five assists, and Cleveland State held Butler scoreless for nearly seven minutes at the beginning of the Vikings' 77-57 win Thursday night.
Moss hit three 3-pointers during the Vikings' 16-0 run in the game's opening minutes.
Butler (7-10, 2-5 Horizon League) went scoreless until Brandon Polk, who finished with 20 points, hit a jumper to make it 16-2 with 13:08 to play in the first half.
Cleveland State (6-10, 3-5) never trailed and led 41-20 at halftime.
Omari Westley added 14 points for the Vikings, who outshot the Bulldogs 53 percent to 40 percent. Cleveland State also had a 35-21 rebounding advantage.
Bruce Horan added 10 points for Butler.
Buffalo 78, Marshall 65
AMHERST, N.Y. -- Yassin Idbihi had 25 points and eight rebounds to lead Buffalo.
Turner Battle added 20 points and nine rebounds and Calvin Cage chipped in 18 points, including five 3-pointers, as Buffalo (12-5, 5-4 Mid-American Conference) won for the third time in four games and improved to 8-1 at home.
The Thundering Herd (3-14, 0-8) led 50-43 after Joe Miles hit a 3-pointer with 13:53 to go, but saw their lead quickly evaporate when they went scoreless during an eight-minute span.
Miles had 14 points, and A.W. Hamilton and Ronny Dawn each contributed 13 points for Marshall.
