DANCES
XStruthers Business Association will sponsor an oldies dance Saturday at the VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers. Doors open at 7 p.m. Cost is $20 per person or $35 per couple. Snacks and beverages are included; those attending may take their own food items and adult beverages. There will be games and a 50-50 raffle. DINNER-DANCES
XBoardman Park will sponsor its Princess Dance 2005, a father-daughter event, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 11 and 12 at the Community Center. The semiformal dinner dance for girls 6 to 12 and their fathers will take place on two nights this year due to its popularity last year. Tickets are $30 per couple for Boardman residents and $40 for nontownship residents, and may be purchased at the Boardman Park office Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost includes dinner, a professional photo, dancing and music provided by a disc jockey. FUND-RAISERS
XThe fourth annual Dancers Stand United benefit will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at W.D. Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, and will feature 500 dancers from 15 area dance studios. Proceeds from the event will benefit five ailing local children, who will be introduced before the event begins. These kids, ages 20 months through 6, have serious illnesses including blood disorders, leukemia and bone cancer. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with tickets available at the door for $5 each. XYoungstown Firefighters Local 312 will stage a Valentine's Day buffet as a fund-raiser to benefit Youngstown Professional Firefighters Political Action Committee. The casual event will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at Nancy's Place, 3650 Shady Run Road, Youngstown, and will feature dinner, music and a cash bar. The cost is $15 per person. NIGHTS AT THE RACES
XBoardman Lady Spartans Fastpitch Club of Boardman will host its annual night at the races Saturday at the Operating Engineers Hall, 291 McClurg Road. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with races starting at 7. Admission is $5 per person at the door for adults only. Also included will be a Chinese auction, 50-50 raffle and a main auction for items including signed items from USA Softball Team, Lisa Fernandez and Jennie Finch, and signed footballs from Dan Marino and Franco Harris. RUMMAGE SALES
XAnimal Charity will sponsor a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Inglis Greenhouse, 6613 Southern Blvd. Items to be sold will include computers, shoes, household items, etc. Donations may be dropped off from 9 to 4 until Thursday.
