HELOISE Using a central location makes recharging a snap

Dear Heloise: Like most people, we have a lot of cordless devices that need to be recharged, and sometimes finding the right charger took longer than actually recharging something. I finally set up a recharging center in an out-of-the-way corner. I used a small bookcase with doors and got an outlet strip with a breaker for overload protection, plugged it in and attached it to the top of the bookcase.
I gathered together all the chargers, made labels saying what they were for, with any extra information about length of charge, etc., and put them in the bookcase.
While the chargers that we use frequently, like for cell phones, tend to stay on the top, most of them are kept out of sight inside. Now, when we have to recharge the cordless drill, a toy or anything else, we don't have to search all over and guess which charger goes with what. Deb, via e-mail
Deb, this is one electrifying hint! It is aggravating when you can't find a charger for something. So, your hint will make this a problem no more. Heloise
P.S. I mark our chargers with different shades of red nail polish to help distinguish which goes with which device.
Here are a few bathroom-cleaning hints and a safety hint from Heloise Central:
U Never mix ammonia and chlorine bleach (or anything that contains bleach). They create dangerous fumes that could kill. Don't mix cleaning products until you have read the labels carefully.
UTo keep a shower door clean, wipe it off with a squeegee or towel after each use. That might seem like work, but in the long run, it will save you lots of time.
UEvery morning and night, give your bathroom a quick once-over to keep it presentable, and deep cleanings will be a lot easier.
UKeep over-the-counter medicines rotated so that the oldest is in front, and before taking one, check the expiration date.
UKeep a roll of paper towels and a bottle of cleaner handy for quick cleanups. Heloise
Dear Heloise: Scrapbooking is a popular hobby these days. The stickers and embellishments one uses can get quite expensive. So a friend and I decided we would each spend a set amount and then share stickers and embellishments. Very rarely do we use a whole page of stickers anyway. Dear Heloise: My sound off is cars that don't slow down when it's raining. They fly by, going way too fast, and then splash water all over my windshield, temporarily blinding me. Don't they realize how dangerous that is? Please tell them to slow down. Kerry Lynn, via fax
