Open house set to honor Libbs on 50th anniversary



XCOLUMBIANA --An open house for friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald E. Libb, 1229 state Route 164, will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 30 at the First Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave., as the couple celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Libb and the former Patricia A. Rist were married at the Methodist Church in Salem. Their family consists of Ronald F. and Jan Libb of Phoenix, Scott P. and Lisa Libb of Poland, and Dianna E. and Tom Richardson of Columbiana, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Libb retired after 34 years of employment with the Electric Furnace Co. in Salem. He showed ponies at both Mahoning and Columbiana county fairs for over 40 years. He also drove stock car for many years.
Mrs. Libb retired from United schools as an elementary librarian and is now a substitute for Columbiana schools. She was a member of the United High School Board of Education for 14 years.
As longtime members of the United High School community, both received the Eagle Award and have been inducted into the school's Wall of Fame.
