Churchill kids clubbegins second semester
LIBERTY -- The King's Kids Club of Churchill United Methodist Church will begin its second semester Wednesday from 4:45 to 7 p.m.
The group will meet every Wednesday until April 13, with the exception of Ash Wednesday and Holy Week.
The program includes Bible study, music, crafts and dinner.
The King's Kids Club is free to all children of the community, preschool through sixth grade. If necessary, a junior high class will be added.

Orthodox event set
BOARDMAN -- St. John Greek Orthodox, 4955 Glenwood Ave., will hold its fourth annual Winterfest from noon to 10 p.m. Jan. 29 and 30.
The event is the winter version of the Glendi festival held each August. It will feature Greek cuisine, homemade pastries, music and dancing.
A rummage sale and boutique will be featured for the first time offering an assortment of clothing and other items. Greek cookbooks, religious icons and CDs of Greek music will also be available.

All-day Sunday School
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Shenango Valley Baptist Association will have an all-day Sunday school from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 328 S. Forest St.
Speakers from Morning Star Church, Kimmelbrook Church and Shiloh Baptist Church will be featured.

St. Paul's organ recital
ALLIANCE -- St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3295 S. Union Ave., will present an organ recital at 4 p.m. Jan. 30 featuring Tim Smith, director of music and organist at First Congregational Church, Columbus.
The recital will be performed on the 43-rank Bunn-Minnick Pipe Organ at St. Paul's and will feature sacred and secular music.
Smith, a graduate of Wheaton College and Boston Conservatory, has performed around the country, including with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Solid Brass, a professional brass ensemble from Lorain County, will also perform.

'40 Days of Purpose'
COLUMBIANA -- First Christian Church will launch its "40 Days of Purpose" campaign at 5 p.m. next Saturday during a spaghetti supper, which will also feature a presentation at 6 p.m. focusing on the 40 days program.
The "40 Days of Purpose" is based on the book titled "The Purpose Driven Life," written by best-selling author Rick Warren.
The community is invited to attend and sign up for a small group.

New Life conferencefor pastors' wives
POLAND -- New Life Assembly of God, 2250 E. Western Reserve Road, will be among the hundreds of sites around North America hosting a conference for pastors' wives via satellite from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Thousands of women are expected to participate, while more than 2,000 from around the world will be involved in the event at the Palm Beach Convention Center in Florida in conjunction with Global Pastors Wives Network.
The daylong conference is designed to provide information and counsel on such subjects as marriage, leadership, church life, home and health.
All pastors' wives are invited.

Author to speak
WARREN -- The Rev. Carlos Annacondia, an author and leader in Christian crusades in South America, will be preaching and ministering at First Assembly of God, 2640 Parkman Road, at 6 p.m. Jan. 30 and at 7 p.m. Jan. 31.
The Rev. Mr. Annacondia's book, "Listen to Me, Satan!," is one of the best-selling Christian books in South America.
