WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Mistie Williams had a season-high 22 points after going scoreless in her previous game, and Alison Bales added 21 to help top-ranked Duke hold off Wake Forest 99-86 Wednesday night.
All five starters finished in double figures for the Blue Devils (18-1, 4-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), who shot a season-best 59 percent to win their 16th straight. Jessica Foley and Monique Currie scored 15 apiece and Wanisha Smith had 14.
No. 8 Michigan State 62, Illinois 42
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Kelly Roehrig scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and No. 8 Michigan State dominated inside.
The Spartans (16-2, 5-1 Big Ten) missed their first seven shots, but they also held Illinois to just two points during the drought and grabbed the lead for good with a 12-4 run that put them up 16-9 with 9:48 to go in the first half.
Michigan State won its fourth straight and is off to its best start in school history.
No. 10 Texas Tech 68, Nebraska 58
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Chesley Dabbs scored 15 of her 21 points in the first half and No. 10 Texas Tech held off Nebraska.
The Lady Raiders (14-2, 5-0 Big 12) made their final eight free throws to win their eighth consecutive game, handing Nebraska its first home loss in 10 games.
No. 11 Notre Dame 74, Syracuse 61
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Jacqueline Batteast scored 19 points to the Irish.
Notre Dame (15-3, 3-2 Big East) improved its record against Syracuse to 15-1 since the Irish joined the Big East for the 1995-96 season.
The Orange's lone victory came in the 2002 Big East tournament.
Megan Duffy and Charel Allen each had 17 points, and Courtney LaVere had 13 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season for the Irish.
No. 20 Kansas St. 74, Texas A & amp;M 50
MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Claire Coggins and Shana Wheeler scored 11 points apiece and Kansas State used a big second half for a the victory.
Kendra Wecker and Megan Mahoney each added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Wildcats (13-3, 4-1 Big 12), who outscored the Aggies 47-27 in the second half for their fourth straight win.
