Howland Scope Center has planned these activities: Jan. 25, a free lecture on finding help with home assistance from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the center, lunch is $5 per person, call the center to register; Jan. 26, lecture on fighting osteoporosis and bone loss from 1 to 2 p.m. at the center, light refreshments will be available, and reservations are necessary; Jan. 25, a bus trip to Carousel Dinner Theatre in Akron to see "Honky Tonk Angels," leaving the center at 4:45 p.m., cost is $60 per person; Jan. 27, bingo party from 11:30 to 2 p.m., cost is $5 per person and includes two free cards, lunch and a 50-50 drawing; Feb. 6, bus trip to see "Sleeping Beauty Ballet" at State Theater in Cleveland, $48 per person includes bus and theater ticket, a stop for lunch will be on your own, call the center for departure time; and Feb. 8, bus trip to the Home and Garden Show at the IX Center in Cleveland, cost is $35 and includes bus, breakfast at the center at 8 a.m. and entrance to the show. Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has scheduled the following: Monday, bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, New Middletown satellite, oil painting and computer classes and exercises at 10 a.m., blood pressure screening and computer class at noon and digital class at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, Lake Milton satellite and watercolor class at 10 a.m., tai chi at noon, blood pressure screening at 12:30 p.m., and yoga and 500 cards at 1; Thursday, Watch Our Weight Support Group and woodcarvers at 9 a.m., Boardman satellite and Hugs and Stitches Sewing Group at 10; blood pressure screenings at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., square dancing at 1 p.m. and line dancing at 3; and Friday, Sebring Fun Day and exercises at 10 a.m. and crafts at 12:30 p.m. Beginning Feb. 4, tax experts will prepare income tax returns at the center free of charge.
