Diversity breakfastis planned at YSU
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Diversity Breakfast will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center at Youngstown State University.
The speaker will be Rev. Morris W. Lee, pastor of Third Baptist Church in Youngstown.
Tickets are on sale at Bytes 'n' Pieces on the second floor of Kilcawley Center. Tickets are $6.50 for YSU students and $12 for nonstudents.

Sanctity of Lifecelebration Friday
VIENNA -- The New Life Maternity Home will hold its second annual Sanctity of Life celebration concert at 7 p.m. Friday at North-Mar Church of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, 3855 E. Market St., Warren.
The concert will feature Tia Ciferno, Everlasting Hope, Chistylee Roose and Delivering Disciples Youth.

Healing crusade planned
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ebenezer Church of God in Christ, 566 W. Indianola Ave., will hold a winter healing crusade Wednesday through Friday at 7 each night.

FARRELL, Pa. -- The New and Living Way Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 927 Lee Ave., will have a musical presentation at 5 p.m. Sunday. The Chosen, under the direction of Brother T.C. Brown, from Steubenville, Ohio, will be the featured guest.
Festival Eucharist Sunday at St. James
BOARDMAN -- A Festival Eucharist in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. will take place Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave. and at 11:30 a.m. at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, 614 Parmalee Ave., Youngstown.

Gospel music concert
WARREN -- The Rev. Alton Merrell and New Jerusalem Church will present a gospel music concert at 6 p.m. next Saturday.
Those providing musical selections in the concert include the Rev. David L. Herron and K Juan Company. Singers from several denominations will also be performing.
The concert will take place at the New Jerusalem Fellowship, 2555 Palmyra Road.

'Prayer walking' topic
POLAND -- Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will host guest speaker, Rich Rosenberger, a former principal of Riverview Schools in Pennsylvania, at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Rosenberger will speak on the power of prayer walking in his school and how it was transformed during his 11-year tenure through behaviors, dress standards and sports.
Refreshments will be served after his presentation.

Tsunami donations
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Office of Social Action of the Diocese of Youngstown reports that local individuals and groups have donated $32,225.97 (as of Jan. 7) in the first week of its appeal to support the work of Catholic Relief Services responding to the victims of the tsunami in South Asia.
Catholic Relief Services continues to provide food, water, shelter, medicine and household necessities to tsunami survivors in South and Southeast Asia.
