WGH's Tyler King ties for 11th in 100 back



CANTON -- Tyler King of Warren Harding High tied for 11th place in the 100-yard backstroke in 53.11 seconds in the state swimming meet Saturday at C.T. Branin Natatorium.
Conner O'Halloran, Chad DeAgelo, Brian Worhatch and Mike Barringer swam to 14th place in the 200 freestyle relay in 1 minute, 29.81 seconds.
"Our plan at the start of the season was to put three of our relay teams in the state championships," said Boardman Terry O'Halloran. "All of our swimmers were underclassmen and the experience of going to state for the underclassmen will pay off for us over the next couple of years."
Barringer, David Shilling, Worhatch and O'Halloran placed 23rd in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:20.67.
"We are pleased with the overall boys' performance, said O'Halloran. We had some of the top freshman times in the state this season."
Hayley Robinson, a senior for the Spartans finished 21st in the girls 100 breaststroke in 1:08.74.
Cincinnati St. Xavier won the boys crown. Warren Harding was 37th with 11.5 points and Boardman 47th with seven points.
Columbus Upper Arlington took the girls Div. I title.
