Tree, fish sale programs accepting orders



SALEM -- Columbiana Soil and Water Conservation District's annual tree and fish sale programs are accepting orders through March 31 and April 11, respectively.
Seven tree packets with various hardwoods, pines, nuts and flowering ornamental trees as well as English ivy leaders, crownvetch, pachysandra, wildflower seeds, bulk blue spruce, Douglas fir and white pines are being offered this year.
Prices range from packet to packet. Pickup will be at the SWCD office here from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 14-15.
The fish sale for area pond and lake owners offers various species such as largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, perch and white amur.
Pickup will be at 2:30 p.m. April 14 at the office. Bring a container filled with your own pond water. Five to 10 gallons per 100 fish is required. Line your container with a new plastic liner before adding water.
The white amur must be placed in a container with a lid or a liner large enough to be tied at the top (two amur to each five gallons of water).
