UPCOMING EVENTS
Saturday: Valentine Challenge Ice Skating Institute Team Championship. Rink teams from Ohio and western Pennsylvania will come to compete at all levels, adults and youths. Ice Zone has also participated in World Championship competitions, and placed third in Columbus in 2001. These are strictly recreational competitions.
March 28: USFS testing. This is done before three judges, and is a means for skaters to set goals and move to different levels, and also to receive feedback on where they need to improve. 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
April 23-24: Spring Show will feature about 200 participants in solos, pairs, synchronized teams and other groups. It is a staged event with costumes and props. There will be three performances, and they expect about 400 in the audience. Tables and chairs are set around the rink to seat about 200, and waiters on skates serve wine and cheese (coffee and doughnuts at the Sunday matinee.)
REGULAR ACTIVITIES FOR ADULTS
Ice dancing, 7:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays.
Synchronized team skating, 6:15-7:15 p.m. Tuesdays.
Adults only skating, 6:45-8:45 p.m. Sundays.
Coffee club, 10:45-11:45 a.m. Tuesdays. Cost is $5 per skater, $3 extra to skate the public session, noon-2 p.m.
