Foxx is looking forwardto 'Vice' work with Farrell
LOS ANGELES -- Jamie Foxx can't wait to start work with Colin Farrell on a film version of "Miami Vice," because the actors have already built up a formidable off-screen chemistry after several meetings with director Michael Mann, reports IMDB.com. The Oscar-nominated "Ray" star knows working with the Irish wild man will be a hell-raising experience -- but he's convinced that they will be the envy of mankind when the remake hits cinemas next year. "The chemistry between us is already there, like it was with me and Tom Cruise in 'Collateral,' so making this movie is going to be a total blast," said Foxx. "And it's going to redefine cool. You're going to see our Crockett and Tubbs suits and be like, 'I want those.' You'll see our car and you'll go, 'I want one of those.' And as for our women, man, you're gonna be like, 'Now I gotta get me some of that.' " The flick will start shooting this spring and be out for mass consumption in July 2006.
Photos upset Spears
LOS ANGELES -- Britney Spears says the veil has been lifted on her honeymoon, and she's not happy. Photos of Spears and her husband, Kevin Federline, are on the cover of Us Weekly magazine under the headline: Britney's Private Album! Other pictures of the couple's October honeymoon in the Fiji islands are displayed on five pages inside the magazine, on newsstands Friday. Spears quickly issued a statement condemning the use of the photographs, which show the happy couple relaxing and enjoying breakfast on the beach. "Kevin and I chose a resort location where we were promised absolute privacy and seclusion," the 23-year-old pop star said. "Unfortunately, staff members took photographs of us, which we allowed them to take once we were assured they were being taken only for private use in a scrapbook they gave us as a souvenir." "Other magazines, including Star, contacted us when presented with these photographs and refused to publish them," said Spears. "Kevin and I thank those other magazines for respecting our rights of privacy." In a statement to The Associated Press, the magazine said: "Coming from a celebrity who sold pictures of both her wedding and her stepdaughter, it's unlikely the issue here is privacy. Could it be that Britney is seeing red after not seeing the green from these photos? Britney Spears should start a magazine if she'd like to dictate her own coverage."
LaBelle's flattered
DENVER -- Singer Patti LaBelle said she takes it as a compliment when younger musicians like Nelly and Kelly Rowland take on her music. "Whenever they do my songs, I know I'm in the land of the living," she said outside Michael Jordan's party this weekend before Denver's NBA All-Star game. Jordan, who threw the party to launch the Air Jordan XX, planted a kiss on the rhythm 'n' blues diva on the red carpet. Fans cheered LaBelle, whose latest hip-hop collaboration resulted in a video with Outkast. Before the party, LaBelle, who lost three sisters to cancer before they were 44, received an award from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. She has worked with a number of charitable organizations on issues like cancer, AIDS, diabetes and Alzheimer's. "Thank God people are listening," LaBelle said.
Beckham family grows
LONDON -- Soccer star David Beckham's wife, Victoria -- formerly known as "Posh Spice," gave birth Sunday to the couple's third son, named Cruz. Victoria Beckham, 30, and the baby are in "perfect health," said Dr. Vidal Pelaez, head of the obstetrics and gynecology department at the Hospital Ruber Internacional, where she gave birth to the 7-pound boy by planned Caesarean section. Cruz has two brothers: Brooklyn, 5, and Romeo, 2. The marriage of Britain's No. 1 celebrity couple grabbed headlines in April when a former personal aide, Rebecca Loos, claimed she and David Beckham had had a 10-day affair. He dismissed the claim as "ludicrous" and "absurd." In September, lawyers for the couple said they were taking legal action against a British tabloid newspaper over an article which claimed their marriage was in trouble. Victoria Beckham is a former member of the Spice Girls.
