Sign topic of meeting
CORTLAND -- The city's planning, zoning and building commission will meet Wednesday for a special session -- in Champion Township. The commission will gather at First Place Bank, 4460 Mahoning Ave. N.W., at 5:30 p.m. to look at a sign similar to one the financial institution wants to put at its Cortland location.
The First Place Bank in Cortland is at 325 S. High St. The sign is at issue because of its LED lighting. There is no such similar sign in Cortland, and the commission has to determine if such a sign fits under the guidelines of the city's sign ordinance. Officials said the bank will demonstrate to the commission the brightness of the sign.
