Harding's King takes 2nd in 100 backstroke



CLEVELAND -- Tyler King of Warren Harding took second place in the 100 backstroke in 52.42 seconds in the Division I district swimming meet Saturday at Cleveland State University's Busbey Natatorium.
Hayley Robinson of Boardman placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.14 and she is heading for the state tournament for the fourth consecutive year.
It will be the second time that King will be making an appearance at the meet in Canton's C.T. Branin Natatorium.
Boardman had two relays that might advance as at-large selections.
Connor O'Halloran, Chad DeAngelo, Brian Worhatch and Mike Barringer of the Spartans were seventh in the 200 freestyle relay (1:29.56).
Barringer, David Shilling, Worhatch and O'Halloran were seventh in the 400 freestyle relay (3:18.41).
Canfield's Frankle finishes ninth
Rob Frankle of Canfield finished ninth in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.09). Eric Davis, Mike Braman, Jordan Graham and Frankle placed ninth in the 400 freestyle relay (3:19.19).
Akron Firestone won the team championship with 264 points. University School was second with 241 and North Canton Hoover was third with 172. Boardman was eighth with 76, Warren Harding was 21st with 37 and Canfield was 51st with 14.
