CRIME Three in stolen vehicle arrested on drug charges

The victim told Warren police she knew the man who broke in her house.
AUSTINTOWN -- Police arrested three Youngstown residents in a car reported stolen from a Warren woman earlier this week.
Police stopped the car early Wednesday after a license plate check indicated it was stolen.
The driver, Bernard S. Taylor, 40, of Thorton Avenue, and front-seat passenger, Norene A. Garono, 37, of Sunshine Street, both initially gave false names and each was charged with obstructing official business.
Taylor was charged with receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia after a syringe was found on his car seat.
Garono, who was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear on a burglary charge from Struthers, also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Three suspected crack pipes were found in a cigarette case.

Debra A. Carter, 38, of Ohio Avenue, the back-seat passenger, was charged with criminal trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police saw the car pull out of the truck stop area where Carter had previously been told not to return, according to police.
A suspected crack pipe also was found under her seat, reports said.
Police found a butcher knife and a box cutter in the car's glove box.
A woman in the 1400 block of Southwest Boulevard in Warren told police Tuesday morning that a man she knows broke into her house, chased her until she locked herself in the bathroom and then took cash and her 2004 Nissan.
Police reports say the description of that man doesn't match that of Taylor.
