REGIONAL COLLEGES Westminster women fall in showdown

Mount Union swept Muskingum at home and away.
WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Westminster College women's basketball team held a four-point halftime advantage but was outscored 44-28 in the second half and lost 59-47 to Washington & amp; Jefferson Wednesday night.
The two teams entered the game tied for first place in the conference. W & amp;J improved to 19-5 overall and 7-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, while Westminster dropped to 16-7, 6-3.
Lauren Slampak and Dayna Greenfield led the Presidents in scoring with 16 points apiece.
Westminster was paced by senior forward Mary Jane Eaton with a team-best 16 points. Sophomore guard Desiree Sterling (Newton Falls) and senior forward Erica Tallo added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Clarion 64, Slippery Rock 51
CLARION, Pa. -- Melba Melton's 19 points led a trio of double-figure scorers as Clarion University improved to 20-4 overall and 8-1 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
Shay Godwin had 15 points and Heather Cigich added 11.
Stacey Green led Slippery Rock (9-16, 3-7) with 13 points. Kristen Bonner added 11.
Mount Union 72, Muskingum 49
ALLIANCE -- Ashley Bourdeau tossed in 20 points and Kyla Hogan added 14 as Mount Union College rolled easily past Muskingum.
The Raiders (5-19, 2-15 Ohio Athletic Conference) rolled to a 34-18 halftime lead. Muskingum (3-20, 2-15) was led by Leah Miller with 17 points.

Mount Union 61, Muskingum 59
NEW CONCORD -- Mount Union College rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat Muskingum in an Ohio Athletic Conference battle.
The Raiders (12-12, 8-9) were led by Brad Gerard with 16 points and Kyle Karpinski with 12. Muskingum (15-9, 10-7) got 27 points from Zach Ross.
