MEN'S TOP 25 No. 18 Panthers hold on for 68-66 win over Irish

PITTSBURGH -- Carl Krauser's runner from the lane with 11 seconds remaining put No. 18 Pittsburgh ahead to stay after two Notre Dame comebacks and the Panthers turned to their bench for a 68-66 victory Saturday.
Pittsburgh (17-4, 7-3 Big East) trailed by as many as five points before going on a 14-1 run without starters Krauser and Chris Taft to take a 58-50 lead on Chevon Troutman's two free throws.
Chris Quinn tried to rally the Fighting Irish (14-7, 6-5) in a game important to their NCAA tournament hopes by scoring on three consecutive possessions to briefly put them up 62-61, then hitting his fifth 3-pointer to tie it at 65.
Krauser's basket restored Pitt's lead at 67-65 and freshman backup Ronald Ramon made a free throw with 4.3 seconds remaining after Rick Cornett had prevented Notre Dame from tying it again by missing one of two free throws. Krauser led the Panthers with 16 points, but their bench contributed 24 points after scoring only six in the previous two games combined.
No. 8 Syracuse 90, No. 22 Villanova 75
PHILADELPHIA -- Hakim Warrick scored a career-high 32 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Gerry McNamara had 18 points in their return to their home state, helping Syracuse send Villanova to its worst loss of the season.
The Orange (22-3, 9-2 Big East) looked nothing like the team that hit a mini-skid with two losses in their last three games, both to Top 25 teams.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Justin Gray scored 20 points, Eric Williams had 15 points and a career-high 14 rebounds and Wake Forest avenged a heartbreaking loss earlier in the season by routing Florida State.
Sixth-man Taron Downey ran his streak of 3-pointers to six before finally missing and finished with 14 points for the Demon Deacons (21-3, 9-2 Atlantic Coast Conference).
Missouri 68, No. 16 Okla. 65, OT
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Thomas Gardner scored 11 of his 18 points in the final 2 minutes of regulation and the overtime, helping Missouri end a five-game losing streak.
Kevin Young's layup with 1:17 left was the go-ahead basket for the Tigers (11-13, 3-7 Big 12), who twice rallied from double-digit deficits in the second half.
Lawrence McKenzie's 3-point attempt from the corner just missed with 2 seconds to go for Oklahoma (17-6, 6-4).
No. 23 Texas 75, Kansas St. 72, OT
AUSTIN, Texas -- Daniel Gibson scored 14 points in overtime, and Texas snapped a three-game losing streak.
Gibson, who finished with 23 points, scored Texas' first eight in the overtime and finished it by hitting six straight free throws in the final minute.
Brad Buckman had 17 points and 10 rebounds, his third double-double in three games, and Sydmill Harris shook off a nagging groin injury to score 17 points for Texas (16-7, 5-5 Big 12).
No. 9 Louisville 65, S. Florida 57
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Ellis Myles scored 15 points and Taquan Dean and Larry O'Bannon each added 13 for Louisville.
Francisco Garcia scored 12 points for the Cardinals (21-4, 9-2 Conference USA), who went 5-for-15 from 3-point range and were 20-of-54 overall (37 percent).
No. 5 Kentucky 60, Georgia 51
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Chuck Hayes and Patrick Sparks each scored 14 points and Kentucky held off a late run by Georgia.
Kentucky (19-2, 10-0 Southeastern Conference) led by as many as 21 points in the second half, but Georgia (7-14, 1-10) rallied within 55-50 with 2 minutes left and came up empty on two other chances to further cut into the margin.
No. 3 Kansas 89, Colorado 60
LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Wayne Simien had 25 points and 12 rebounds and sparked a key surge in the second half that carried Kansas.
Simien was 11-for-11 from the free throw line -- all in the first half as he set a school record for most free throws in a half. It was the 31st victory for the Jayhawks (20-1, 10-0 Big 12) in their last 32 games against Colorado.
DePaul 85, No. 21 Cincinnati 66
ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Quemont Greer scored 25 points and Drake Diener added 22 to lead DePaul.
Mejia scored 16 points for DePaul (16-5, 8-2 Conference USA), which has won four straight and eight of nine.
Eric Hicks had 22 points for Cincinnati (18-6, 6-4).
Iowa St. 81, No. 25 Texas Tech 68
AMES, Iowa -- Jared Homan broke out of a shooting slump with 23 points and freshman Tasheed Carr added 17 in a solid all-around game for Iowa State.
The Cyclones (13-8, 5-5 Big 12) rallied from an early 14-point deficit to go up by 12 midway through the second half.
Texas Tech (15-6, 7-3) lost for just the third time in 13 games.
