The 211 number offers access to community organizations and government agencies that offer these services:
Basic needs: Food banks, shelters, rent and utility assistance.
Physical and mental health: Health insurance programs, Medicaid and Medicare, maternal health, medical information lines, crisis intervention services, support groups, counseling, drug and alcohol intervention and rehabilitation.
Employment support: Financial assistance, job training, transportation assistance and education programs.
Support for senior citizens and people with disabilities: Adult day care, congregate meals, home-delivered meals, respite care, home health care, transportation and homemaker services.
Support for children, youth and families: Child care, after-school programs, Head Start, summer camps and recreational programs, mentoring, tutoring and protective services.Volunteer opportunities
