TRUMBULL ATHLETIC CONFERENCE Girard finishes regular season with 20-0 record



GIRARD -- Girard High finished the regular season unbeaten, defeating Newton Falls 53-34 in a Trumbull Athletic Conference girls basketball game Thursday night.
Cachet Murray led the Indians (20-0, 14-0) with 21 points, 10 assists and 12 rebounds. Lora Doran and Jasmine Carter added nine points each. This is the first team, boys or girls, to finish unbeaten in school history.
Lindsey Calland tossed in 14 points for Newton Falls (4-16, 3-11).
Lakeview 38, Liberty 27
LIBERTY -- Christina Martin and Alynn Martin scored eight points each for Lakeview.
The Bulldogs (14-6, 10-4 TAC) led 21-14 at halftime.
Michelle Dykes scored 12 points for Liberty (6-14, 2-12).
Hubbard 52, LaBrae 40
LEAVITTSBURG -- Shari Bullockscored 18 points for Hubbard.
Shelia Drummond added 13 points for the Eagles (7-13, 5-9 TAC), who led 30-13 at halftime.
Maddie D'Orio scored seven points to lead LaBrae (7-13, 2-12).
Maplewood 53, Badger 25
KINSMAN -- Maplewood completed its regular season with a 19-1 record and was unbeaten in the Northeastern Athletic Conference.
Stephanie Schwartz pumped in 27 points for the Rockets, who led 25-14 at halftime. Schwartz, who had five 3-pointers, also had nine rebounds and Brittany Bolinger had seven assists.
Leah Dean finished with seven steals.
Schwartz had 17 points in the first half for Maplewood.
Mathews 89, Bristol 38
VIENNA -- Tara Ford scored 28 points to lead Mathews.
Lauren Roscoe added 13 points for the Mustangs (18-2, 12-2 NAC), who jumped out to a 27-12 first-quarter lead and held a 45-24 halftime advantage.
Melanie Roscoe finished with 14 rebounds for Mathews.
Nikita Light scored 13 points to pace Bristol (5-15, 5-9).
