HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL Howland stops Austintown Fitch



Melissa Airhart had a solid all-around game for the Tigers.
AUSTINTOWN -- Carolyn Hanshaw scored 18 points and Melissa Airhart added 12, leading Howland High to a 59-37 victory over Austintown Fitch in a girls non-conference basketball game Thursday night.
Airhart also had seven rebounds and six assists for the Tigers (15-5), who led 32-11 at halftime.
Alexis Hall had 10 points and nine rebounds to lead the Falcons (8-12).
Warren Harding 64, Campbell 17
CAMPBELL -- Desirae Jenkins scored 23 points to lead Warren Harding in a non-league game.
Jenkins scored 11 points in the first half and 12 in the third quarter, and did not play in the final eight minutes.
Kayla Sparks added 11 points for the Raiders (9-10), who led 32-9 at halftime. Kacie Wooding had seven rebounds and Melissa Rodriguez finished with three assists.
Campbell (3-17) was led by Veronica Lewis and Sophia Brown, who scored four points each. Brown also had 10 rebounds and two assists. Dana Moore also had two assists.
Chaney 58, Youngstown Chr. 40
YOUNGSTOWN -- Courtney Williams scored 15 points for Chaney in a non-conference game.
Tieara Jones added 11 points and 11 steals for the Cowgirls (10-10), while Quiana Faison had 10 points and 16 rebounds.
Chaney trailed 23-18 at halftime, but took the lead with a 27-5 outburst in the third quarter.
Rachel Coristin scored 12 points for Youngstown Christian (8-11) and Kara Copper added 11.
Mineral Ridge 40,Jackson-Milton 38
MINERAL RIDGE -- Rachel Siler scored 13 points and had 18 rebounds to lead Mineral Ridge to its first Inter-County League win of the season.
Abby Kiger had 12 rebounds for the Rams (3-17, 1-11), who led 19-18 at halftime.
Jessica Balent scored eight points to lead Jackson-Milton (7-13, 2-10).
South Range 55,Western Reserve 48
NORTH LIMA -- Heather Stacy scored 16 points for South Range in an ICL game.
Michelle Pingley added 10 points for the Raiders (9-11, 6-6), who led 22-3 after the first quarter.
Sara Kutsko led Western Reserve (5-15, 4-8) with 10 points.
Sharon 59, Commodore Perry 16
SHARON -- Brittany Csatlos had a triple-double for Sharon (19-4).
Csatlos finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. Nikki Odem added 10 points for the Tigers, who led 28-9 at halftime.
