COURT Tot found alone on street at 3 a.m.; mom arraigned

It was the second time the 4-year-old was found alone on the street, police said.
BOARDMAN -- A township woman was arraigned Thursday on two charges of child endangerment after police found her 4-year-old child wandering down the street alone near their home about 3 a.m. Thursday.
Judge Joseph Houser of Boardman Area Court set bond for Christina Marie Mastropietro, 27, at $3,000. She was in the Mahoning County jail late Thursday.
Boardman police found the child walking near his home on Paxton Street early Thursday. He told police he was looking for his dog. Officers went to his home and found an 18-month-old child there alone.
The children were taken into custody at the time of their mother's arrest and were later released to a relative, according to police reports.
Arrested
Mastropietro was arrested when she returned to the home around 5 a.m., according to police Capt. Jack Nichols. The children's father, Scott Mastropietro, was at work at the time, Nichols said.
It was the second time in about two months that officers have found the child on the street without adult supervision.
On the afternoon of Dec. 8, police found the 4-year-old riding his bicycle near the intersection of U.S. Route 224 and Glenwood Avenue. At the time, they took the child home and no charges were filed.
"That was on an afternoon and a child can wander away during the day," Nichols said. "But in the middle of the night ... well, that's a different story."
