COURT $200,000 bond is set in rape case

WARREN -- A judge set bond at $200,000 for a man accused of raping an ex-girlfriend's young daughter several times.
Cory Zickefoose, 35, of 3176 Warren Burton Road, Southington, appeared for arraignment Thursday before Judge John Stuard of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
He pleaded innocent through the public defender, Atty. Anthony Consoldane. A pretrial hearing will be Tuesday before Judge Andrew Logan.
Zickefoose faces five counts of rape involving a juvenile, each of which could carry a term of life in prison, and two counts of gross sexual imposition.
A Trumbull County grand jury handed up the indictment Wednesday after a direct presentment of the case, bypassing municipal court.
Thomas Wrenn, an assistant county prosecutor, said Zickefoose was living in Lordstown with a woman and her children.
The adults in the home worked different shifts, he noted. The couple no longer is together.
"It was after he left that the girl divulged where it happened," Wrenn said.
The indictment states that Zickefoose had forced contact with a female under 13.
The rapes occurred, the document states, in summer 2001, summer 2002, summer 2003, fall 2003 and winter 2003. The accuser now is 13.
