GREENFORD -- State Route 45 between West Calla Road and Western Reserve Road in Goshen and Green townships will be closed for up to 60 days beginning next month as part of a plan to replace the bridge over Meander Creek.
The work will begin March 1 and is expected to last until May 1, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
During that period, traffic will be detoured from U.S. Route 224 to state Route 534 and then to state Route 14 and state Route 165.
The work is part of a $2.5 million project. Preliminary drainage work already has begun and is expected to cause daytime lane restrictions, according to the department.
Boil-water order issued for Deer Trail Drive residents
CANFIELD -- The city has issued a precautionary boil-water order for residents of Deer Trail Drive until 9 a.m. Friday.
The city experienced a waterline break on Deer Trail at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, and the line was shut down for about two hours.
Therefore, it is advised that residents boil water vigorously for at least one minute. This includes any water used for drinking, including water to make ice, cooking and oral hygiene.
The city has no evidence that the water system was contaminated, but officials are advising residents to use this precautionary measure.
Police investigate death of 5-month-old
YOUNGSTOWN -- Police are investigating the death of a 5-month-old Gray Street girl.
A baby sitter told police Tuesday evening that she was watching four children, including the baby, at her Plaza View Court apartment. The baby sitter said she found the girl, who had been congested, wasn't breathing and called 911 around 9:30 p.m.
The baby was pronounced dead at 10:16 p.m., police said.
Reservists set to return to Youngstown today
VIENNA -- Eighteen Air Force reservists from the 910 Airlift Wing are scheduled to return to Youngstown Air Reserve Station at 3:15 p.m. today after a deployment of varying lengths of time to Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. They will be returning on a C-130H.
The reservists are operations and maintenance personnel. The aircrew is from the 773 Airlift Squadron here.
As of Wednesday, about 204 Air Force reservists from the 910 remained on active duty, with about 111 of them deployed overseas.
Officials investigate fire at Queen of Hearts bar
WARREN -- Firefighters are investigating what caused a fire at Queen of Hearts bar, 132 Pine Ave. S.E.
Firefighters used an ax and saws to help extinguish a fire in the ceiling Tuesday afternoon.
Church reports damage by suspected gunshots
WARREN -- Agape Assembly Church, 426 Nevada Ave. N.W., told police Tuesday that several holes, the result of suspected gunshots, were discovered in walls of the church.
Shannon Road sewer project complete
WARREN -- Trumbull County commissioners have accepted a certificate of completion for the $3.4 million Shannon Road sanitary sewer project.
It serves 200 Liberty Township households tied in to Girard's sewer system. Work is finished except for springtime cleanup.
Dollars provided by Liberty, Girard, the county, the state and the U.S. Department of Agriculture provided for 17,000 feet of line.
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency had designated the area a health nuisance because of faulty septic tank systems.
