MAD ABOUT THE ARTS Program now offers dance in an evening for arts lovers

YOUNGSTOWN -- The ninth annual Mad About the Arts has added an evening of dance to its schedule. But if you go, you won't just watch dancers. You'll be one.
Rudy and The Professionals, who play Motown, reggae and Caribbean music, set the stage for this year's event, which features dancing from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Feb. 25, at the McDonough Museum of Art.
In addition, Ballroom with Style of Boardman dance studio will offer dance instructions and demonstrations to guests.
"It has been our goal each year to make Mad About the Arts special to the arts-loving community," said Gary Sexton, WYSU station manager. "This year, a new facet - an evening of dance - has been added."
The event, a fundraiser for WYSU-FM Classical 88.5 and the McDonough, will also offer private wine tasting from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for those with $75 Friend of the Arts tickets.
The YSU Guitar Ensemble provides the entertainment at the wine-tasting reception.
The event will once again offer art, hors d'oeuvres and a selection of wines and champagnes provided by local and regional vendors.
Last year, the event raised approximately $12,000 for the radio station and art museum. The event has consistently drawn at least 500 people every year.
Tickets are $30 for WYSU-FM and McDonough members, for College of Fine and Performing Arts alumni and for YSU faculty, staff and students. Regular admission is $40. For more information, call (330) 941-3363 or visit www.wysu.org.
