Order bars spending in embezzling probe

WARREN -- A temporary restraining order was granted to prevent the spending of any money that may have been embezzled from Warren Municipal Court.
The order was issued against Judith M. DeJacimo by Judge Peter Kontos of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, who set a hearing on the city court's request for a permanent injunction for 9 a.m. Friday.
DeJacimo, of Glenn Drive Northeast, worked as a court clerk from 1993 until she was placed on administrative leave Nov. 7. She has not been charged with any wrongdoing.
A civil suit filed by Warren Municipal Court seeks to recover the cost of audits, damages and costs associated with the missing money as well as unspecified punitive damages.
The suit alleges that DeJacimo converted more than $25,000 of court funds for her use.
It seeks to block DeJacimo from transferring, gifting or removing her name from any assets that may be in her name. The suit also alleges that she will be indicted criminally as a result of the missing funds.
