BOYS BASKETBALL Late rally secures Wildcats' win



Travis Foreman had 23 points, and 10 rebounds in an East Palestine win.
STRUTHERS -- Struthers senior Mike Duponty scored nine of his 20 points in Friday's fourth quarter as the Wildcats basketball team rallied from a 49-39 third quarter deficit to upend visiting Springfield, 65-59.
Jim Sodeman scored 13 points and Matt Kukura added 12 for Struthers (4-2), which fell behind 16-5 in the first quarter. Dane Dobson had 21 points, and Dave McClearn added 13 for Springfield.
Youngstown Christian 53, East Liverpool Christian 44
YOUNGSTOWN -- Dominic Vitullo had 15 points and seven rebounds to lead Youngstown Christian (3-6) at South Fieldhouse.
Stephen Setnick added 10 points and four assists while Ed Gonda had eight points, seven rebounds and three steals to bolster the winners.
Corey McCoy and Chaz Keglor each had 11 points to spark East Liverpool Christian.
Western Reserve 55, Lisbon 50
BERLIN CENTER -- Western Reserve junior Jerod Barker, making just his second career start in place of injured starter Dave Drevna, scored a career-high 17 points in a non-league game.
Chris Tofilski added 10 points and eight rebounds for Reserve (7-1), which led by 11 with less than a minute remaining. Jeff Zatchok had eight rebounds and seven assists.
Marcus Judy had 20 points and Steve Tsilimos 17 for Lisbon.
East Palestine 66, Jackson-Milton 38
EAST PALESTINE -- Travis Foreman scored 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds as East Palestine evened its season record at 2-2.
Dan Hanolt added 17 points while Jake Harvey came up with six assists.
Nick Kaley led Jackson-Milton with 11 points.
Newton Falls 50, Southeast 45
NEWTON FALLS -- Matt Dillon scored all 15 of his points in the second half as Newton Falls rallied from a 21-16 halftime deficit.
Nick James added 13 points for the Tigers (2-3).
Derek Steele had 14 points for Southeast (2-3) while Alex Blake had 13 and Micah Herndon 11.
