Mosler scores first career goal but Hounds fall to RiverKings

David St. Germain had 41 saves for Youngstown.
SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- The Youngstown SteelHounds needed nearly 50 minutes to find their offense against the Memphis RiverKings on Tuesday.
By then, it was too late.
Ryan Campbell and Derek Landmesser each had a goal and an assist for the RiverKings, who beat Youngstown 3-1. David St. Germain (7-10-1) made 41 saves in the losing effort as Youngstown was outshot 44-25. Bill Mosler scored his first professional goal for the Hounds.
Memphis scored the first goal using the power play. The SteelHounds (11-5-1) successfully stopped a 5-on-3 Memphis power play but, with just one man down, inadvertently kicked a Dorian Anneck pass into the net. Anneck was credited with his 11th goal of the season, eighth on the power play, assisted by Peter Robertson and Ryan Watson at the 4:56 mark of the opening frame. Memphis (10-13-1) outshot the Hounds 16-4 in the period.
The RiverKings owned the second period, outshooting the Hounds 16-5 and scoring twice with the special teams once again taking center stage. Memphis' second goal came as the Hounds misfired on a pass in the offensive zone that led to a Campbell breakaway. Memphis added to its lead with a 4-on-3 power play goal scored by Landmesser, his sixth goal and team-leading 29th point of the season, assisted by Campbell and Robertson. Through two periods, the RiverKings outshot the Hounds 32-9.
The Hounds' goal came at the midway point of the third period as Mosler was assisted by Kelly Sickavish. St. Vincent (6-6) made 15 third-period saves for Memphis.
Youngstown will play at 8 p.m. Thursday night in Wichita.
