Harding topples St. Ignatius 59-40



Bryan Wright led the Raiders with a career-high 20 points.
WARREN -- Senior Bryan Wright scored a career-high 20 points -- 14 in the first half alone -- as the Warren Harding High boys basketball team defeated Cleveland St. Ignatius 59-40 Tuesday.
Wright added three assists for Harding (6-1).
Keelyn Franklin scored eight of his 15 points in the fourth quarter and also had three assists while Pat White collected nine rebounds and three assists for Harding.
O'dell Eargle supported the attack with 11 points and Tashon Williams rebounded eight times.
The Wildcats (3-4) trailed just 41-33 after three quarters.
Salem 68, Hubbard 64
SALEM -- Tom Jesko tossed in 24 points and Salem held off Hubbard to remain unbeaten through five games.
Jarin Heath added 14 points and Tyler Pierce chipped in with 13.
Hubbard, which led 25-22 at halftime, was led by Marc Kanetsky and Frank Rosile with 20 points each, while Corey Hitt added 12. Rosile was 6-of-12 from 3-point range.
Western Reserve 55,Columbiana 44
BERLIN CENTER -- Chris Truitt had 17 points and six assists as Western Reserve overcame the loss of two injured starters.
Chris Tofilski added five points and 12 rebounds for the Blue Devils (6-1), who were missing starters Joe Petro and Dave Drevna.
Derek Graft scored 14 points to lead Columbiana.
Heritage Christian 68,Yo. Christian 53
YOUNGSTOWN -- Heritage Christian jumped out to a 44-22 halftime lead and was never threatened.
Heritage (4-1) was led by Chris Lovett with 18 points and Sean Best with 16.
Youngstown Christian (2-5) got a 22 point performance from sophomore David Colbert, while Aaron Agresta added 11 and Dominic Vitullo had 10.
Shenango 63,Western Hills (Ky.) 60
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Steve McNees became Shenango High's all-time career scoring leader with a 27-point effort as the Wildcats (8-2) won their opening game in the KSA Holiday Classic here.
McNees now has scored 1,726 points, breaking the record of Ryan Delaney of 1,715. Steve McNees Sr., the Wildcats' head coach, also won his 300 career coaching victory
Schenley 83, Kennedy Catholic 56
DARLINGTON, Pa. -- David Jackson and Blair Rozenblad each scored 22 points, but it wasn't enough against Pittsburgh Schenley in the first round of the Blackhawk Holiday Tournament.
DeJuan Blair had 20 points to lead Schenley.
In other tournament action host Blackhawk lost to Elizabeth Forward 77-64, Bethel Park defeated Shaler 45-43 and Beaver Falls tripped Carlisle 64-62.
