Mineral Ridge advances at Lordstown event

LORDSTOWN -- Vance Kiersey scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds Monday to lead the Mineral Ridge boys basketball team to a 73-57 victory over Southington in the opener of the Lordstown Holiday Basketball Tournament.
Micah Hall chipped in with 17 points and Nick Diana 10 to support the Rams (6-0).
Dwayne Leetie scored 17 points to lead Southington, while Trey Tietz added 16 and Ryan Gilanyi had 12.
