Commings to face Wyatt (22-0)

CHESTER, W.Va. -- World Class Promotions and Promoter Greg Nixon will present a seven-bout card Friday at Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort.
The headline event will be a 12-round fight for the International Boxing Association super featherweight championship featuring Monty Meza Clay (18-0, 12 knockouts) from Rankin, Pa., against Shamir Reyes (18-4-2, 7 KOs) from Brooklyn, N.Y.
Youngstown's Pat Nelson has arranged to have his undefeated super welterweight, Joe Wyatt (22-0 14 KOs) from Pittsburgh, face veteran Youngstown fighter Roland Commings (22-24-3, 10 KOs) in an eight-rounder.
Commings, who manages himself and has Nelson act as an agent for him, requested the fight.
"I have watched Wyatt fight and I believe I can beat him," Commings said.
Wyatt ranked No. 7
Wyatt is ranked seventh by the WBO and 12th by the WBA. Commings, who turned 40 Dec. 21, will be fighting as a pro in his third decade.
Nelson also will have two of his heavyweights, Brian Minto from Butler, Pa., and Devin Vargas from Toledo, on the card.
Minto (22-1, 10 KOs) is ranked among the top 35 heavyweights in the world and will be in an eight-rounder with veteran Troy Weida (44-20-2, 31 KOs) from Kewanee, Ill.
"Minto can use this as a tune-up to bigger and better fights," Nelson said.
Vargas (7-0, 4 KOs) will be in a six-round heavyweight battle with Ed Perry (6-1-1, 3 KOs) from Lafayette, Ind.
